What does Safestor cost?The cost of Safestor depends upon the amount of coverage you desire. We offer 3 coverage limits -- $4,000, $10,000 or $15,000. The premium per month for those limits are $6, $18 and $24, respectively. There is a 3 month minimum purchase. What's covered by Safestor Protection?Safestor covers you in case of loss or damage to your stored goods from fire, hurricane, tornado, wind, earthquake, vandalism, lightning, smoke, hail, building collapse, explosion, leaking water and burglary. Burglary coverage is limited to 50% of the coverage amount. Also, there must be visible signs of forced entry and a police report must be filed. Furthermore, there is no coverage for loss caused by or resulting from war, flood (or surface water), vermin or climatic conditions like rust or mildew. What kinds of property are not covered by Safestor Protection?Items not covered are as follows: financial records, currency, deeds, securities, stamps, jewelry, watches, precious stones, furs or garments trimmed with fur, works of art or antiques, motorized vehicles of any type, whether licensed for road use or not, such as motor scooters, ATVs, or motorcycles. When does my coverage begin?To Buy by Mail: Coverage begins at 12:01 a.m. the day following the postmarked date on the envelope. To Buy by FAX: Coverage begins at 12:01 a.m. on the day we receive authorization on your credit card or upon receipt of your check or money order. To Buy Online: Coverage begins immediately when you authorize payment on your Credit Card. Credit card payment must be approved in order for coverage to be valid. To Buy by Phone: If you call for coverage and your credit card authorization is accepted, coverage begins immediately. What if I remove my goods before my coverage ends?Notify us in writing that you want to cancel. We will gladly remit a refund for all full policy months not used. When can I expect to receive my policy?You will receive your policy immediately upon purchase. How much of my loss can I recover?You can recover today's value of your stored belongings, (original cost minus depreciation), up to the amount of insurance you purchased. Are my stored possessions covered by my homeowner/renter policy?Many homeowner/renter policies provide only limited coverage for possessions stored away from the insured location. You should contact your insurance agent or carrier for more specific details on your coverage. What should I do if I have a claim?If you purchased SafeStor Protection over the Internet, you can sign into your account and fill out our Online Claim form. Otherwise, contact our claims office at 877-528-5674 or 888-307-8426 if your goods are located in Texas. Either way, a local claims adjuster will personally handle your claim. Claim payment is based on today's value of your belongings less $100 deductible. Is there a deductible?Yes, the first $100 of any loss is deducted. Can I buy Safestor insurance in my state?Safestor insurance is available in most U.S. states, excluding Florida and Hawaii. |
